Initial situation

In Shopware Standard, a product can only be called up either with the complete path or with the Technical URL - but not with the product number. In addition, there is the problem that a Technical URL exists in the background for each product and these may be indexed by bots.

Function of the plugin

This plugin makes it possible to 1.) to call products only with the product number (without knowledge of the exact path)
and additionally 2.) redirect the Technical Product URL with a 301 redirect automatically to the correct Product URL.

1.) Calling a product with the product number

In order to call a product only with the product number, it can be done in one of the following format:
  • https://DOMAIN.de/PRODUCT-NUMBER-12345 (since plugin version 3.1.0)
  • https://DOMAIN.de/detail/PRODUCT-NUMBER-12345
This makes sense, for example, when linking to the store from external pages or if the call center should quickly get directly to the product detail page.

Example:
https://www.DOMAIN.de/detail/PRODUCT-NUMBER-12345 redirected to the nice SEO URL
https://www.DOMAIN.de/Fantastic-Copper-Liquid-Qleen/PRODUCT-NUMBER-12345

2.) Automatic 301 redirect when calling the technical product URL

Each product in Shopware can be called via 2 URLs - Example:
  • Example 1: via search and navigation respectively:
    https://www.DOMAIN.de/Fantastic-Copper-Liquid-Qleen/PRODUCT-NUMBER-12345
  • Example 2: via the UUID of the product (= Technical URL)
    https://www.DOMAIN.de/detail/a08dbdd2dc7047bcb7497699e4c762e5

The ACRIS Plugin redirects immediately from the Technical URL to the nicer URL with the product number in the URL (301 Redirect).
This ensures that the users and especially the bots are immediately redirected to the correct URL and do not index the Technical URL.

Install plugin as usual in Shopware, there are no further setting options
