General functionality of the preview function for Shopware Shopping Experiences, Product Preview and Category Preview
This plugin adds a preview function to the Shopping Experience Pages, to the Products and to the Categories. By clicking on the selected preview function, the desired sales channel can be selected and either the link can be copied or the preview can be viewed in a new tab. In the preview profile management, the desired preview domain or preview language can be stored. When installing the plugin, each sales channel is created with a default profile, this they can change or customize.Important: To ensure the functionality of the preview function, an experience world is always saved first when the ‘Preview’ button is clicked.
If changes are not yet to be applied, we recommend duplicating the experience beforehand and only replacing it later in the assigned category.
Simulate rules for preview (from plugin version 4.2.0)
It is possible to simulate active rules for the preview. When clicking on "Preview", rules can be specified that are simulated as "True". An example of the application is the preview for a certain period in the shop where an action should be visible. Or if a preview is to display experience world elements or blocks that are only to be displayed for specific customer groups.
Preview profile management
In addition, a management for the preview was built, so they have additional options:Settings > Extensions > Shopping Experience Preview > Preview Profiles.
The preview profile administration includes the following points:
- internal name: is used for the overview and preview function
- Active: whether this is available for selection in the preview function or not
- Position: for the preview selection order
- Sales channel: Selection, of the desired sales channel
- Storefront domain: Since a sales channel can have several stored domains, you can assign one here (default: first domain assigned to the sales channel).
- Currency: selected currency will be used in the preview
- Customer group: selected customer group will be used in the preview
- Category: the selected category will be used in the preview (default - if nothing is entered: home category of the sales channel)
- Product: the selected product will be used in the preview (default - if nothing is entered: Home category from the Sales Channel): Any product assigned to the Sales Channel will be used).
Things to know about the preview function / Known limitations / Requirements
- The preview function is not created for the device selected in the admin (mobile, tablet, desktop) but, a preview is generated, which behaves depending on the device used.   This means that if the preview of Mobile is to be tested, then the preview link on the Mobile Device must be used (analog Desktop, Tablet).
- Limited preview for Shopware default layouts: Currently, the preview is possible for all self-created worlds of experience, with the Shopware default layouts it may happen that there is no preview for some (eg contact / form template).
- Prerequisite for the preview of products is that products are created in the store. The same applies to the preview of categories or worlds of experience.
