Purpose of the plugin
The AcrisChangeEmailOptin plugin extends Shopware’s customer account management with a secure double opt-in process for changes to email addresses. This ensures that any change to an email address must first be confirmed before it is applied to the customer account. If a customer wishes to change their email address in their customer account, a confirmation email is first sent to the address currently on file. The new email address is only activated once the verification link contained in the email has been clicked. The customer then receives a confirmation at their new email address.
This procedure prevents email addresses from being changed unintentionally or without consent. At the same time, the plugin enhances the security and traceability of changes made to the customer account.
Installation
- Open the Plugin Manager via Settings > System > Plugins
- Upload, install and activate the plugin
Included email templates
Settings > Content > Email templates
The following templates are available there:
- ACRIS email change requested
- ACRIS email change confirmed
Included flows
Settings > Automation > Flow Builder
The plugin automatically creates two predefined flows in the Shopware Flow Builder to manage the email address change confirmation process:
- Change Email requested
This is triggered when a customer requests a change to their email address. A confirmation email is then sent to the email address currently on file. - Change Email confirmed
This is triggered once the customer has confirmed the change via the verification link. The new email address is then activated and a confirmation email is sent to the new address.
