According to the Shopware standard, only the main product images are displayed on category pages, search results and shopping worlds. Variant images are not visible there, which means that customers often only see the available options on the product details page.
We have therefore developed a plugin that offers the following functions:
Variant images on all overview pages
Variant images appear automatically on category pages, search results and shopping worlds. Customers can immediately see which variants are available without having to open the details page.
Flexible display options
Variants can be displayed in different formats – e.g. as image sliders, preview images or text.
Automatic change of product image on hover
The plugin offers the option of automatically changing the product image when the mouse hovers over it. This allows customers to see different views of a product on the overview pages without having to click on the detail page first.
Installation
- Open Plugin Manager via Settings > System > Plugins.
- Upload, install and activate the plugin.

Possible configurations:- Display options
Variant images can be displayed as sliders, thumbnails or text.
- Load images from
Determines the source of the variant images – either property images (e.g. colours) or only the images stored in the storefront display.
- Variation image size
Specifies the size in which variant images are displayed.
- Sorting of preview images in the slider
Define the order of the variant images in the slider.
- Linking of preview images in the slider
Define where you are taken when you click on a variant image (e.g. product detail page or large image view).
- Hide variant images
If only one variant is available, no variant images are displayed.
- Endless loop in the slider
The variant slider can be set so that the images run continuously.
- Change product image on hover
When hovering over the product image with the mouse, a different image can be displayed automatically.
- Cross-selling
Variant images can also be displayed in cross-selling areas (e.g. ‘You may also like’).
- Maximum number of variants in the slider
Specify the maximum number of variant images to be displayed in the slider.
- Fanned out variants
If variants are already displayed individually in the overview, the slider can be hidden.
- Positioning of the variant text
Determine where the texts for the variants should appear (e.g. below the product description).
- Variant text heading
Your own heading for variant texts can be displayed

Specify where the variant images should be displayed (e.g. below the product description)
- Element height of the variant slider
Specifies the height of the slider if no variants are found.
- Assigned dynamic product groups
Display variant images specifically for products from certain product groups.
Product configuration:
To ensure that the correct variant images are displayed in the shop, they must first be assigned to the variants in the admin area:- In the admin area, go to Catalogues > Products and open the desired variant product.
- Switch to the Variants tab and click on the Storefront display button.
- A window entitled ‘Variant display in the storefront’ will open. Click on Media.
- Now select the desired property (e.g. colours).
- Upload the appropriate image for each variant.
- Click on Save – the variant images will now appear automatically in the frontend.

Sehr hilfreiche und schön gestaltetes Plugin und guter Support
Eine Plugin, dass sehr gut funktioniert und Freude macht! Es stellt die Variantenbilder sehr schön dar und es gibt auch Möglichkeiten über die Optionen das anzupassen. So einen schicken Slider bieten ähnliche Plugins nicht. Auch ein Erweiterungswunsch wurde sehr schnell und kompetent umgesetzt. Sehr guter Support!
